VF05
Sidetable
VF05 explores the balance between controlled form and material-driven deformation. The form is divided between precisely defined areas of use and surfaces left open to respond to the material during forming and drying.
A cylindrical base establishes a controlled centre, while the surrounding surface unfolds into an irregular, fluid silhouette. The loose edges and visible stitching give the object a distinctly textile character, blurring the boundary between furniture and soft material. Here, the seams are not hidden construction details but become part of the visual language of the object.
Developed in two variations, the table explores different relationships between a defined surface and uncontrolled edges. The result is a piece that can function both as a side table and as a seat, while allowing material behaviour, construction and use to shape the final form.
