VF01_stool

VF03 explores the transition between vertical support and horizontal surface as one continuous form. Rather than separating the base from the seat, the design allows the two to flow into one another, creating a seamless relationship between structure, function and shape.

The base is formed from three cylindrical volumes emerging from a continuous band, while the seat develops from a folded and rotated cylindrical surface. Together, these simple geometric operations create a fluid, sculptural silhouette while responding directly to the behaviour of the material.

The resulting form balances stability with softness: the base carries the load, while the curved seat is able to yield gently under pressure. The design brings together insights from previous experiments in material behaviour, forming and drying, translating them into a more refined and continuous object.
